A comparison study of hyaluronic acid hydrogel exquisite micropatterns with photolithography and light-cured inkjet printing methods

Abstract The microstructure design of hydrogel materials offers a broad range practical applications and is extensively used in flexible sensors, polymer microneedles, microfluidic chips, other biomedical engineering fields. Among the bio-sourced hydrogels, oligomeric hyaluronic acid (HA) possesses wound healing, anti-tumor, angiogenesis properties. However, micropatterning soft such as HA-relative hydrogels containing 90% water by weight, continue to pose difficulties for both high precision micro-scale lithography. purpose this study was compare photolithography light-cured inkjet printing methods methacryloyl HA (HAMA-gel) those synthetic light-curable resins. Photolithography with designed scale, resolution, little processing times were effectively prepare micropatterns HAMA-gel. well-shaped consisted parallel channels tens micrometers strip/grid lines hundreds micrometers. Human vein endothelial cells cultured on material’s surface demonstrated that HAMA-gel had good biocompatibility. width flow channel (10 20 µm) regulated allow simultaneous control cell growth along groove directions.
